October 18, 1992 - MAJOR VERSION RELEASE (Maintenance release)
FileBoy's StatusBar 4.1
Copyright ⌐ 1992 Marshal Bostwick - All Rights Reserved
This package contains the executable and support files for StatusBar
version 4.1 release. For usage instructions, see the help file
(press F1 after running) or view the Keyboard QwikHelp (Ctrl+F1).
This Maintenance Release fixes:
1. a condition which would allow the user to select a floppy
drive as the monitored drive.
2. a problem when exiting Windows with StatusBar running that
was causing GPFs (caused by that $@!*# nag screen not
unloading correctly). Sorry for the inconvenience...
********************************************************************
TAKE NOTE!
LOTS OF CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS: They're all documented in the
accompanying files and there's too many to list twice, but look
for revamped keyboard and mouse functions and assignments.
NAG SCREENS: The occasional nag screens have been done away with.
(They were an experiment that did little for getting new users to
register, plus I don't really care for nagware myself.) There's
just one left at program startup.
PRICE INCREASE: As of the release of version 4.0, a Single-User
License is now $15.00. Site License prices have been adjusted
accordingly. All I can say is "Talk to George Bush." (It's a
long story...) See REGISTER.TXT for details.
NEW VERSION OF QPRO.DLL: StatusBar 4.0/4.1 requires the new version
of QPRO.DLL (dated 5/15/1992). Using an older version may result in
annoying, but harmless, behavior. Using the new QPRO.DLL with older
versions of FileBoy software may result in similar behavior.
********************************************************************
REQUIREMENTS:
1. The following libraries must be located in your Windows "SYSTEM"
directory. If you already have later versions (check dates) of
any of these files, use those instead of the ones included in
this package.
VBRUN100.DLL
QPRO.DLL (NEW version, dated 5/15/92)
COMMDLG.DLL
CMDIALOG.VBX
THREED.VBX
2. The executable, STATBAR.EXE, and the help file, STATBAR.HLP, may
be placed in any directory, but should be in the same directory.
3. To use a *.WAV sound file for the hourly alarm beep, you must have
Windows 3.1, or Windows with Multimedia Extensions 1.0, and a
sound card installed on your system.
********************************************************************
RELOCATION IS COMPLETE:
I have relocated to Ohio. If you have other, older versions of any
FileBoy Shareware, the address given will be incorrect, and all mail
should instead be sent to my new address:

1032 West Market Street, #4
Akron, OH 44256
********************************************************************
LOOK FOR A NEW VERSION OF FILEBOY'S AREACODES (2.0) SOON:
The new version file sport a new interface and have over 6,000 U.S.
and Canadian cities listed, and will now actually support data
files greater than 64K (as incorrectly stated in earlier versions).
********************************************************************
I welcome inquiries about any of the other FileBoy utilities for
Windows. Support for new features of Windows 3.1 is currently
being added to most FileBoy applications. Registered users will
be informed of these upgrades as soon as they become available.
Thanks for your support!
Marshal Bostwick
